The Geely Radar King Kong pure electric pickup truck is officially launched

On December 23, Radar King Kong, a global commercial and passenger pure electric pickup truck, was officially launched. For users who lock in orders before January 31, 2025, Radar King Kong is a pure electric pickup truck with a very competitive price, and is one of the most worthwhile pure electric pickup trucks in the 100,000-level.

Previously, in the TOP Grade challenge held by China Automotive Information Technology, Radar King Kong became the first domestic pickup truck to successfully challenge the triathlon. At this press conference, it was awarded a certificate for its excellent commercial pickup performance.

In terms of appearance, Radar King Kong basically follows the family design language. The closed front face design is matched with the unique front headlight group, which looks quite avant-garde; on the side of the body, the waistline design is straight and tough, matched with the smoked black body and slightly raised front and rear wheel eyebrows, which is more sporty; at the rear part, the design is simple and stylish and takes into account practicality, ensuring the convenience of using the cargo box.

In terms of body size, Radar King Kong offers a variety of sizes, including standard box version and long box version. The long box version has a body length of 5500mm, a width of 1900mm, a wheelbase of 3310mm, and a cargo box size of 1765*1450*540mm. It adopts STC ultra-robust anti-corrosion design, with stronger loading capacity and better wear resistance, which can meet the use of engineering infrastructure, agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery and other industries. In addition, Radar King Kong has a rated load capacity of 910kg, and its carrying capacity is also good.

In terms of interior, Radar King Kong continues to move closer to passengerization. The whole series is equipped with a multi-function steering wheel, an 8.8-inch color screen instrument + an 8-inch central control screen, and provides one-button start/keyless entry, TCS traction control, HHC hill start assist, HDC steep slope descent, EPB electronic parking brake, AutoHold automatic parking and other intelligent configurations. In addition, the interior space of Radar King Kong is comparable to that of a large five-seater medium-sized SUV. The longitudinal leg space in the cabin is 20mm larger than that of a traditional fuel pickup truck, the head space is 15mm larger, and the seat cushion is 33mm higher, so the riding space is larger and the sitting posture is more comfortable.

In terms of power, Radar King Kong is equipped with a three-in-one high-efficiency electric drive system, providing two layouts: rear single-motor two-wheel drive and front and rear dual-motor four-wheel drive. Among them, the two-wheel drive version has a maximum power of 180kW and a peak torque of 309N·m; the four-wheel drive version has a maximum power of 280kW and a peak torque of 485N·m, and a zero-to-hundred acceleration time of 5.7 seconds. Compared with traditional fuel commercial pickup trucks, Radar King Kong has stronger power. In addition, the Radar King Kong four-wheel drive version provides 3 escape modes + 3 driving modes to meet more driving pleasure.

In terms of battery life, Radar King Kong provides a variety of battery life options. Among them, the Fortune King Kong two-wheel drive version offers 42kWh, 63kWh and 73kWh lithium iron phosphate battery packs to choose from, with pure electric ranges of 310km, 430km and 505km respectively. In addition, the Fortune King Kong two-wheel drive version also offers models equipped with 86kWh ternary lithium battery packs, with a pure electric range of up to 605km.

The Dali King Kong four-wheel drive version offers 55kWh and 73kWh lithium iron phosphate battery packs to choose from, with pure electric ranges of 330km and 460km respectively. In addition, the Dali King Kong four-wheel drive version also offers models equipped with 86kWh ternary lithium battery packs, with a pure electric range of up to 520km. Radar King Kong creates a new power for commercial pickup trucks

Radar King Kong has a peak power of up to 280kW, surpassing many 3.0T diesel pickup trucks, and accelerates from 0 to 100 km without load in 5.7 seconds, and only 7.8 seconds when fully loaded. Not only does it start quickly, but it can also beat fuel pickup trucks without load in a fully loaded state, and the transportation efficiency is easy, capable of pulling and powerful.

The peak torque is as high as 485N·m, which can show extraordinary climbing ability when climbing with heavy load. It is 85N·m higher than the traditional diesel 2.0T pickup truck, and even compared with the 2.4T diesel pickup truck, it still has obvious power advantages. Not only does it have a large torque, the Radar King Kong torque response time is within 20ms, and the response speed is faster and more rapid than the fuel pickup truck. Whether it is a rugged mountain road or a long-distance climb, super power can be available at any time.

In terms of driving mode, Radar King Kong also has three modes: economy, comfort, and sports, as well as three escape modes: snow, mud, and off-road.

In terms of loading, Radar King Kong can load more, bear more, and be more durable. It is a veritable "cargo hauler". The cargo box is 1765mm long and has a volume of about 1400L, which can easily accommodate both commercial building materials and agricultural products. The rated load reaches 910kg, which is about 400kg higher than the fuel pickup truck. The load-bearing efficiency is also as high as 44%, which is twice as high as that of traditional fuel pickup trucks. This is mainly because Radar Kong uses the same type of integrated cage-type endoskeleton body technology as Tesla Cybertruck, as well as hidden beams. The body has double longitudinal beams and 12 large-section embedded crossbeams. The lighter body has higher strength and rigidity, and can be more reliably protected in the face of collisions and impacts.

Radar Kong's rear bucket breaks through the traditional material usage of cargo boxes. It uses the same type of STC wear-resistant and anti-corrosion cargo box as Ford Raptor and Tesla Cybertruck, which is durable, corrosion-resistant, and never rusts. Suitable for more operating environments.

Build a "safety shield" for commercial pickup trucks

Commercial pickup trucks are used in harsh environments, and users have great concerns about battery scratches. Radar Kong has a ground clearance of 225mm, and the battery pack armor is 10mm thick, which can avoid scratches and is not afraid of scratches. The battery pack has undergone as many as 472 rigorous test standards, such as extrusion, impact, puncture, immersion and other tests, far exceeding international standards. Even under complex road conditions, it can effectively avoid the risk of scratches on the bottom of the battery. At the same time, it shares Geely's battery safety technical standards, has 6 major battery safety technologies, and IP68-level dust and water resistance, and remains stable in severe weather such as wading and rainstorms.

Not only has it worked hard on chassis safety, Radar King Kong also has a sturdy body with an integrated endoskeleton, with high-strength steel accounting for 70%, and torsional stiffness as high as 30300N·m/deg. The whole vehicle adopts a collision-proof and pressure-resistant design on all sides and the top, with a roof pressure resistance of 8 tons, which can withstand about 4 containers, ensuring the safety of drivers and passengers even in the face of emergency collisions. The front and rear anti-collision beams are both high-strength steel structures, and the rear box is safer when a rear-end collision occurs. The four doors also use an anti-collision beam design, which guarantees the safety of people and vehicles in all directions, including the front, rear, side, chassis and roof.

In terms of pedestrian safety, Radar King Kong adopts an advanced Onebox wire-controlled braking system with excellent braking performance. The braking response speed is 3 times that of ordinary fuel pickup trucks, so it can brake and brake steadily whether it is empty or fully loaded. When fully loaded, the braking distance is only 39 meters, which is 6 meters shorter than traditional fuel pickup trucks, providing safer protection for pedestrians.

Creating a new realm of commercial pickup truck control

The minimum turning radius of Radar King Kong is only 6.1 meters, which is 0.4 meters smaller than traditional fuel pickup trucks. Even in narrow city streets or complex outdoor road conditions, it can turn lightly and flexibly. The 2N·m electronic power assist can provide a passenger-level electric steering experience, get rid of the heaviness of the hydraulic steering of traditional fuel pickup trucks, make the operation smoother and lighter, turn around in one go, and turn with heavy loads without effort. As a pickup truck, Radar King Kong has better control stability for emergency turning and lane changing, reaching the level of luxury SUVs, with a elk test score of 71km/h, while traditional fuel pickup trucks are only 65km/h. When changing lanes in an emergency, even with a heavy load, it can be stable and calm.

The legroom, headroom and 115° rear seats in the Radar King Kong cabin are all comfortable, while the rear space of traditional fuel pickups is not only cramped, but the seat back angle is closer to 90°, which will cause back pain after sitting for a long time. At the same time, the Radar King Kong has a library-level silent cabin, allowing users to enjoy a driving experience without engine noise disturbance during daily driving or complex operations. Under the same circumstances, it is quieter than fuel pickups.

Defining a new standard for the economy of commercial pickups

The Radar King Kong is also economical to operate, and its unique super-strong external discharge function can support 380V/15kW and 220V/3.5kW external discharge. Operational discharge can be performed in outdoor scenes such as drone operations and engineering maintenance. In addition, pure electric pickups can enjoy special road rights in some cities.

One car, one business model

Each user can choose different versions of the Radar King Kong according to their different mileage and needs. Daily short-distance users can choose models with a range of more than 300km. The threshold for buying a car is low. You can buy a pure electric pickup truck for 100,000 yuan, and the cost of using the car is also low. You can change to a new car in 4-5 years, and you can earn at least 100,000 yuan in total; users with medium mileage can choose a version with a range of more than 400km, which can save all the money in 3 to 5 years, and earn 170,000 yuan in total, which can buy a new car. For users who travel long distances on an average day, choose a car with a range of more than 500km and 600km. It only takes 2 to 3 years to save all the money. It can be said that the higher the range and the farther you run, the more you can save and the more you can earn.
